Apples in a Bag – PinTest

Apples in a Bag (Pinterest) (Original Website)

In one word – Yummy!

The other night I decided to just give this a try. I made two servings in one bag instead of just one, and I didn't peel my apples because I was being lazy. I wanted something sweet, and I wanted it right then. Four minutes later, I had a great dessert. One of the best things about this dessert was the fact that it was only 59 calories per serving.

Next time, yes there will be a next time, I will probably just put everything in a bowl and cover it with a small area open to let steam escape. I'm not sure I want to use the bag again.

If you are like me, and would rather eat the apples out of an apple pie, then this recipe is made just for you.

Gumball Necklace for Valentine’s Day – PinTest

A couple of years ago I made a gumball necklace for our youngest granddaughter. I loved this idea as soon as I saw it, and had to make it!

It is pinned here on Pinterest

One Charming Party is where I found this way back when, but I made sure to pin it today so you could find it with no problem.

Now I am off to see what I can do for this Valentine's Day. Any ideas?

PinTest – Spicy White Queso

We love our queso, but typically we use Velveeta cheese. I found this recipe on Pinterest and just had to try it.

The main ingredient is cream cheese.

Sounds yummy, doesn't it?

Well, while it was good, we will be going back to our old stand-by recipe with Velveeta.  The name of this recipe indicates that the dip would be spicy, but it wasn't. I spiced it up a bit more by adding Hot Rotel instead of the regular stuff.

Let me know if you try it. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

PinTest – Ale & Cheddar Soup

Ale & Cheddar Soup from

Who knows when I pinned this, or should I say repinned it. Pinterest is simply addictive! If you have any suggestions on what you would like tested, just shoot me an email or leave a comment here. I can test it for you!

I made this soup back in November, and am super slow in getting things posted. It was YUMMY! It was super simple to make, and the left overs even reheated well.

Be sure to try this recipe before the winter months are over!

PinTest – Silly Sludge

First off, I have to say that our Silly Sludge looks nothing like theirs, but we had a lot of fun making it!

I'm a geek. There, I said it. I like making things, and watching them come together. Maybe that is why I like cooking so much. Putting a whole bunch of ingredients together, and watching them come together as a yummy treat is fun for me. With that said, this was a pin I just had to try.

I waited until our granddaughter Emma came to visit. I couldn't have all the fun by myself. We made two batches, one pink and one blue. You can see in the photo above that Miss Emma likes to mix things up.

After playing with our silly sludge for a little bit, we called the guys in to check it out.

Who knew that they would have just as much fun with it as we did.

PinTest – Avalanche Bars

Here is the original pin that I repinned and tested – Avalance Bars pinned via Pickled Turnips.

First of all, I have to apologize for the photo. I have been sitting here playing with the new Typepad photo editor, and I have to say that it isn't my favorite. I will stick to PhotoShop. (Imagine that!)

The first time I made these bars McD and I were on a strict diet. I made the bars for my sister and Granny.  They were headed to Switzerland, and I wanted to make them some treats to take along. This recipe just happened to be one of the treats.

My Granny loved them. In fact, I am going to be making some more for her for Christmas.

The second time I made them just because I wanted to make something. McD loved them.

Honestly, I haven't tried them. I probably won't try them. But, everyone else that eats them loves them.

My Toms Stink to High Heaven! A PinTest.

My Toms smell stink!

Granny and I went shopping to get her some new Toms. I have the coolest granny!  Anyway, while she was trying some on, I asked the chickadee that was helping us how we could wash our Toms. I went on to tell her that mine stink really bad. Her answer to me was that I needed to wear footies with them.

Well, it's just a little too late for that now, isn't it? I mean they stink now, and wearing footies isn't going to change that fact.

So, what did I do? I went to Pinterest, of course!

I saw that someone else had the same problem, and she had pinned a website telling everyone to put tea bags in their Toms to take the smell out.

So, what did I do? I tried it, of course!

I left them this way for a few days.

On about the third day, I took the tea bags out and actually raised one of them to my nose. It didn't smell near as bad as it did before the tea bag experiment, but they still stank.

So, there you have it.  The tea bags are not the way to go.

Now, please tell me that I am not the only one with stinky Toms.

PinTest, Cowboys Locker Room & A Visitor

I've pinned a lot of stuff on Pinterest, and recently I have started to test some of these pins.  I plan on sharing each bomb or success with you, and this is one of the successes!  Yeah!!

It is a sugar scrub that was promised to leave your legs silky smooth.

The test results:  It worked!!  I really liked the scrub; it was easy to make and felt so good!  The recipe makes a pretty big batch for one person, so I will scale it down a bit next time.  Also, cleaning the bath tub after using this scrub isn't much fun.  But I am getting ready to try another pin that claims it makes cleaning the tub/shower easier.  We'll see!

Recently, we were able to tour the Dallas Cowboys stadium.  It is an amazing facility!  What was even more amazing was the tour guide that could recall how many seats, television screens, feet of handrails, etc there were throughout the whole stadium.

We went to the Cowboys Locker Room, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Locker Room, the press room, the field, and even had our photos taken on the field.  McD wanted to race Farmer Ribs from the 50 yard line to the goal line, but there was some debate whether one of them cheated.  The race ended early.

If you get a chance, you ought to take a tour.  Our next tour will be of the Texas Rangers ballpark.

Hello Spidey.

You know, for the longest time I watched this guy just hang from his web.  In fact, I thought he might be dead.  I grabbed a piece of water hose, and started aiming it at him and he ran.  He ran, I squirmed and ran in the house.  I still get the heebie jeebies just thinking about it.

I have no idea what kind of spider this is, what he eats, or if it is a he or a she.  This photo was taken when I thought he was dead.  If you click on the photo it should show you a bigger photo, and then you can see just how close I was to it.  I think you can see its eyeballs.

I wanted to feed it something, but I don't know what he eats, and I guess I just don't want to take the time to figure it out.  I never see anything in his web, so maybe he will starve and I won't have to kill him.  🙂

That's kind of what has been happening here.

What's happening in your neck of the woods?
