Currently Reading – November 19, 2015

by Thursday, November 19, 2015

This week, I have literally curled up by a fireplace with a book and enjoyed every minute of it. We traveled to Colorado Springs this week for a business meeting for my dear husband. We drove into the Springs just before the blizzard hit the state of Colorado. Our kiddos, who live here in Colorado, received twenty inches of snow overnight. It basically just dumped right on top of them.

Let me tell you about the books I’ve been reading.

hidingplaces I’ve been taking my time with this one, and the only reason is because we have been gone so much. When we are gone on these business meetings, we are really busy every night. There are receptions and dinners, and then there are all the friends of ours that we only get to see at these meetings. So, reading seems to be put on the back burner.

But, I am liking this book a lot. I will be finished with it soon, and can’t wait to learn of all the secrets hidden in these chapters.

timebetweenI’m very excited about this book, and it isn’t because of the actual book.  Have you ever heard of a Traveling Book? Well, I hadn’t either until I joined in on this traveling book thing on goodreads.  Here’s how it works. First of all, you have to get a group of readers together that would be willing to read a book, journal about it, and then send it on to the next person on the list. I don’t know where all the book has gone, only because I don’t have the journal in front of me right now, but it is traveling around the United States.

I’m not far enough into this one to really make any comments on it. I will say that it is 626 pages! Wow! Books that are that long usually make me wonder if they can hold my interest that long. So, I will let you know.

Are you a member of goodreads? Be sure to check it out if you aren’t, and if you are, be sure to friend me.  It is a free website to keep track of all the books you have read, and want to read. You can rate the books that you’ve read, and see how all of your friends rate the books they read as well. This is a great way to communicate with your favorite authors, and even win titles that are on your want to read bookshelf. By the way, goodreads has no idea who I am and that I am writing this.

psalm91I told you a little about this book in my last Currently Reading post, and I feel horrible having to admit that I haven’t even opened this one since. I love the actual Psalm 91 in the bible, but I’m having a hard time getting into this book. I’m sure the right mood will hit me and I will finish it in one day.

whereyouleftmeHave I told you about the book club I joined?

Well, it is called Read, Eat and Be Yappy, and we have been meeting since January of 2014. We have a great group of ladies, and have read many good books. This book, Where You Left Me by Jennifer Gardner Trulson, is what we are currently reading. I have downloaded it, and am trying to wait to start it when it is closer to the time for us to meet. I read so many books that I have to make sure the book club reads are fresh in my mind when we discuss it.

If you’d like to join our little book club, virtually, let me know. I can add you to our group on Facebook, and you can discuss the books with us there.

Until next time,

Julie K. McComas
