Yesterday, I was co-hostess to a wedding shower. I keep wanting to call it a bridal shower, but the groom was there too, so that just doesn't sound right. It's kinda funny how the grooms are attending these showers these days. There's no way my husband would've attended our shower, you know…twenty-plus years ago. It wasn't cool!
I was asked to bring fruit, and I was happy to do so but I thought it needed a little something to go with it. Like I needed a reason to get on Pinterest. (Hi, my name is Julie and I am addicted to Pinterest.) I found this little gem of a recipe, tossed it together in a matter of minutes, threw it in the fridge and started getting the fruit ready.
It was a hit! A couple of people even took cupfuls of it home, minus the fruit. One person said that might just be her dinner. Now, I have to make a confession. I never tried it. It smelled good, but it's really not my kind of thing. I like my fruit plain, just sayin'. When you read this recipe you will see that it makes a pretty good amount. There's 32 oz. of yogurt, 8 oz of cool whip, and a box of vanilla pudding mix. There's a lot of this goodness, and I came home with about a 1/4 of a cup. See, a total hit!
The original recipe is HERE at Layers of Happiness. (Love this blog, you must check it out!)
Here's where I made my dip a little different, and no one ever noticed. I told you how much I came home with. I used sugar-free cool whip, sugar-free vanilla pudding mix, and fat-free greek yogurt (Oikos).
Give it a try, stop by Layers of Happiness to say Hi, and tell them that Julie from ACRanch sent ya!
